Working with Fibre: Macrame (Intensive)

Learn five foundational macrame knots and use them to create a custom driftwood wall hanging in one hands-on workshop. You’ll explore different macrame styles, sketch your own design, set up a vertical working station and build your piece knot by knot using texture, layering and contrast. All materials are included, including 5mm cord and authentic Canadian driftwood, so you can focus on making and leave with a finished wall hanging ready to display or gift.
WORKSHOP RUNDOWN

Phase 1: Inspiration & Core Knots

Explore different styles of macrame wall hangings and begin developing your own direction. Learn and practise five foundational macrame knots through guided instruction, building the skills and confidence you’ll use throughout the workshop.

Phase 2: Design & Setup

Sketch your wall hanging and plan how the knots, spacing and overall shape will work together. Set up a vertical working station, prepare your Canadian driftwood base and get your materials ready for construction.

Phase 3: Build Your Wall Hanging

Combine your core knots to build the main structure of your piece. Explore texture, layering and contrast while adding beads or other details and refining the design with hands-on guidance as you work.

Phase 4: Finishing & Trimming

Complete your wall hanging by trimming, fringing and refining the final details. Wrap up with a supportive group review and leave with a finished custom piece ready to display or give as a gift.
