DISRUPT 2026 is a season-long series of free public art activations transforming streets, alleys, and public spaces into platforms for creativity, conversation, and community pride. From May to October, the Urban Art Collective will bring together local artists for street murals, live art jams, walking tours, and hands-on workshops where you can learn the tools and techniques of street art.

This isn't just something you watch, it’s something to take part in. Explore the stories behind the walls, and make your mark at the interactive workshops, and capture the moment on a guided art walks.

Rooted in mentorship, accessibility, and sustainability, DISRUPT celebrates Ottawa’s creative spirit while supporting artists, engaging residents, and reimagining how we use public space.

As part of DISRUPT 2026, our Art Jams bring spontaneous, creative energy into public spaces across the city. These pop-up experiences invite people to gather, create, and connect through hands-on art-making in an open, welcoming environment.

Each Art Jam is designed to be flexible and responsive to its surroundings; sometimes it’s a casual sketch session, other times it’s a collaborative mural board, street photography walk, or mixed-media experiment. The focus is on participation over perfection, giving people of all skill levels a chance to engage with art in a low-pressure, community-driven way.

We work with local artists and facilitators to guide each session, offering prompts, materials, and light structure while leaving plenty of room for exploration. Whether someone drops in for five minutes or stays the whole time, they become part of the experience.

These Art Jams transform everyday spaces into temporary creative hubs; places to meet new people, try something different, and be part of something unfolding in real time.
