FREE Urban Art Activations in Centretown
Celebrating Urban Culture in Ottawa!
DISRUPT 2025 was a season-long series of free public art activations transforming streets, alleys, and public spaces into platforms for creativity, conversation, and community pride. From July to October, the Urban Art Collective brought together local artists for street murals, live art jams, walking tours, and hands-on workshops where you can learn the tools and techniques of street art.
This wasn't just something you watch—it’s something you took part in. So many of you explored the stories behind the walls, and made your mark at the interactive workshops, and capture the moment on a guided street photography walk.
Rooted in mentorship, accessibility, and sustainability, DISRUPT celebrates Ottawa’s creative spirit while supporting artists, engaging residents, and reimagining how we use public space.
Come see the city differently again in 2026!

Murals: DISRUPT 2025
A FUSION OF STREET ART STYLES
10 new murals were created in Centretown, transforming blank walls into vibrant landmarks that celebrated local culture, showcased diverse artistic voices, and contributed to the neighbourhood’s ongoing revitalization.
In partnership with Wallack’s Art Supplies & Framing, we collaborated with an incredible lineup of artists, including Mique Michelle, DRPN Soul, Marsh, Kal, Daniel Martelock, Falldown, Martin, AZ Dead, SNAKEY, and Metz.
Together, these works helped redefine the streetscape, bringing colour, storytelling, and creative energy to the heart of Centretown.
Art Jams: DISRUPT 2025
CELEBRATING STREET ART & CULTURE
To get Centretown ready for the 2025 DISRUPT Art Hunt, we teamed up with some of Ottawa’s leading graffiti and urban artists to create a one-of-a-kind series of painted street signs. These signs, along with hidden Street Art Miniatures, were placed between MacLaren, Florence, and Frank Streets, including the Uncommon Spaces and the laneways in between. Each piece added a splash of creativity to the neighbourhood and was discovered by visitors exploring the area.
The Centretown Street Art Miniature Hunt was a self-guided adventure that ran from July to October. Participants explored at their own pace, followed the clues, and discovered how many artworks they could find throughout the district.
In addition to the Art Hunt, we celebrated Ottawa’s street art scene through a series of Art Jams during DISRUPT. These gatherings brought people out to watch murals take shape in real time and invited the public to participate directly. The Art Jams created space for hands-on experimentation, giving participants the opportunity to try different street art techniques while connecting with local artists and the broader creative community.
