SEE ME NOW III
Join us on August 10th, from 5-9 PM at Urban Art Collective for the opening of the See Me Now III Show curated by OBAK.
“See Me Now III features the artwork of artists working across artistic disciplines, sharing their narratives without feeling the need to seek acceptance, directly challenging notions around “otherness” that many artists encounter. As with previous See Me Now exhibitions, the goal is to normalize silenced voices and elevate them from the margins to the main page.
See Me Now III was made possible through the financial support of the Canadian Race Relations Foundation’s National Anti-Racism Fund, and partnership with the AIDS Committee of Ottawa. ”
The Vernissage is Saturday August 10th from 5-9PM, the Show runs till September 7.

About OBAK
Ottawa Art Black Kollective
The Ottawa Black Artists Kollective (OBAK) is an Ottawa-based artist-run collective dedicated to supporting visual artists of African descent. The organization was created to address the absence of these artists in established local art spaces. OBAK provides a space for artists of African descent to share information and ideas. One of our goals is to develop a sense of community amongst artists of African descent and the wider local arts community.
