Tanisha Dutta
Instructor
Tanisha is a multidisciplinary visual artist, illustrator, and art educator with a background in Fine Arts and a specialization in painting from the College of Art, New Delhi, India.
She loves exploring colours, expressive brushstrokes, textures, and mark-making, while her culture and personal experiences often influence her subjects, colours, and storytelling. Drawing and observational studies are also an important part of her practice.
Alongside her art practice, she works across illustration, children’s books, comics, and storyboarding. She enjoys experimenting with different mediums and finding new ways to tell stories.
With over 8 years of teaching experience across various age groups, Tanisha has had the opportunity to teach at the Delhi College of Art in India. After moving to Ottawa in 2023, she had the wonderful opportunity to become part of the Ottawa School of Art, where she taught multiple courses.
She believes in helping students fall in love with the process of making art. Her teaching encourages curiosity, experimentation, and learning through creative trial and error.
