A move away from traditional rules and rigid grids. This course explores the underlying geometry, visual weight, and tension within a photograph. Drawing heavily on fine art principles, students will learn how to carefully choreograph the elements within their viewfinder, whether constructing an editorial portrait or dissecting a street scene to create a distinct, undeniable visual flow.

• Studio Supplies: Tracing paper, markers, and workspace for physically diagramming visual flow over contact sheets.
