UAC LAB classes are small by design, and each registration helps us confirm instructors, materials and room setup. This policy explains what happens if your plans change or if UAC LAB needs to change a class.
Before You Register
Payment confirms your place in a UAC LAB class, course or workshop.
Before registering, please review the class date and time, prerequisites, age requirements, and any materials or equipment you need to bring. The class listing will also state what materials are included.
If a class is full, a waitlist may be available.
If Your Plans Change
The following cancellation windows apply to your registration:
For a multi-week course, the cancellation window is based on the date of the first session.
These are UAC LAB's standard voluntary cancellation terms. They do not limit any cancellation, refund or other rights available under applicable law.
UAC LAB Credits
A UAC LAB credit may be used toward any UAC LAB class, course or workshop and does not expire. If the new registration costs less than the available credit, the remaining balance stays available for a future registration.
Transfers
You may transfer your registration to another person at no charge. Contact UAC LAB before the class begins so we can update the participant information. The new participant must meet any prerequisites or age requirements listed for the class.
Missed Classes
If you miss a workshop or a session in a multi-week course, UAC LAB does not normally provide a refund, credit or individual make-up class. Course fees are not prorated based on attendance.
This does not prevent UAC LAB from considering an accommodation where required under applicable law.
If UAC LAB Changes a Class
If We Cancel
If UAC LAB cancels a class, course or workshop, you may choose either a full refund to the original payment method, where possible, or a full-value UAC LAB credit.
Classes require a minimum number of registrations to run. Where possible, we aim to make cancellation decisions about two weeks before the scheduled start date.
If We Reschedule
If UAC LAB needs to change the scheduled date or time of a class, we aim to provide approximately 48 hours' notice whenever possible. Occasionally, changes may be necessary on shorter notice.
You may accept the revised schedule or cancel your registration for a full refund to your original payment method, where possible, or a full-value UAC LAB credit.
For a multi-week course, if a single session has to be cancelled, we will normally arrange a replacement session. If a replacement cannot reasonably be provided, UAC LAB will provide an appropriate refund or credit for the cancelled portion of the course.
Materials, Kits & Equipment
Each class listing will state whether materials are included and whether you need to bring or purchase anything yourself.
For a voluntary cancellation under this policy, if a take-home kit or other materials have already been provided, the disclosed value of those materials may be deducted from an otherwise eligible refund. This does not apply where applicable law requires a different refund treatment.
Materials or kits included with a registration cannot be returned separately for cash unless required by law.
Coming Prepared
Participants are responsible for reviewing the class requirements before registering and arriving with any required materials or equipment. Forgetting required materials or not meeting a clearly stated prerequisite does not, by itself, make a registration eligible for a refund.
Safety, Conduct & Accommodation
Participants must follow reasonable safety directions from UAC LAB staff and instructors, particularly when using tools, equipment or materials that may present a safety risk.
UAC LAB may remove a participant whose behaviour is unsafe, significantly disruptive, discriminatory or harassing, or otherwise prevents others from safely taking part. A refund may not be provided in these circumstances.
Where behaviour or participation needs may relate to a disability or another protected need, UAC LAB will consider its accommodation obligations under applicable law. Immediate action may still be taken where reasonably necessary to protect the safety of the participant, instructor or others.
Purchases Outside a Class
This policy applies to UAC LAB classes, courses and workshops. Physical merchandise purchased separately is subject to the return or exchange terms provided for that purchase.
Ontario Consumer Rights
Nothing in this policy limits any rights or remedies available under applicable Ontario consumer protection or human rights law.
Questions, Cancellations & Transfers
For cancellations, transfers or questions under this policy, contact UAC LAB at learn@urbanartcollective.ca before the applicable cancellation deadline. For UAC LAB's voluntary cancellation policy, a request is considered received when it is sent to this email address.
Approved refunds will be initiated promptly. Your bank or payment provider may require additional time to complete the refund.
