Before camp begins, please complete the Participant Information Form below. This information helps our instructors provide a safe, fun, and supportive experience for all campers.

Summer Camp – Frequently Asked Questions
Urban Art Camp takes place at:
Urban Art Collective Arts Hub
50 Bayswater Avenue
Ottawa, ON
Campers will work both indoors and outdoors throughout the week, taking advantage of nearby parks, public art, and creative spaces in the neighbourhood.
We maintain a ratio of approximately 2 instructors for every 12 campers to ensure students receive plenty of guidance, support, and supervision throughout the week.
Camp hours and drop-off/pick-up times will be provided in your registration confirmation email.
Please ensure your child is dropped off and picked up on time each day.
Our camp team includes a range of:

All instructors are passionate about arts education and creating a welcoming, supportive, and creative environment for young artists.
Activities may include:
- Drawing and sketching
- Painting
- Mixed media projects
- Urban art and mural-inspired activities
- Collaborative art projects
- Outdoor sketching and observation
- Creative challenges and games
- Public art exploration and neighbourhood walks
Each camp week is designed to encourage creativity, experimentation, and artistic confidence.
Yes.
Weather permitting, campers may participate in supervised outdoor activities including:
- Sketching in local parks
- Public art walks
- Outdoor art projects
- Creative exploration activities
Please dress appropriately for the weather each day.
Please send your child with:
- A nut-free lunch
- Nut-free snacks
- A reusable water bottle
- Sunscreen
- A hat (recommended)
- Any required medications (such as an EpiPen)
Art can be messy!
Campers should wear:
- Comfortable clothing
- Closed-toe shoes
- Clothing they don’t mind getting paint on
While we provide protective aprons and other safety equipment when appropriate, paint and art materials can occasionally stain clothing.
Depending on the projects, campers may work with:
- Acrylic paint
- Paint markers
- Drawing materials
- Mixed media materials
- Water-based spray paint (used under instructor supervision)
- Adhesives and other creative materials
All activities are age-appropriate and supervised by camp staff.
Please complete the Participant Information Form included in your registration package.
The more information you can provide, the better we can support your child throughout the week.
This includes:
- Allergies
- Medical conditions
- Medications
- Learning or behavioural considerations
- Sensory sensitivities
- Any other information that may help us create a positive camp experience
We occasionally photograph camp activities for educational, promotional, and archival purposes.
Parents can indicate their preferences regarding photography and media use on the Participant Information Form.

Not at all. Our camps are designed for all skill levels, from beginners who simply enjoy being creative to young artists with more experience. Our instructors work with each camper at their own pace and encourage creativity, experimentation, and self-expression.

Drop-Off & Pick-Up
Parents may use the parking lot behind the building for drop-off and pick-up. After parking, please walk around to the front entrance of the building to drop off your camper.

This location is only a short walk from the Arts Hub.
Public Transit
We are easily accessible by public transit.
- Bayview Station (LRT) is just a short walk from the Arts Hub.
- OC Transpo Route 11 stops nearby and provides convenient access to the area.
Arrival
We recommend arriving a few minutes early on the first day of camp to allow time for check-in and to ensure your camper is settled and ready for a creative day.
