Colour Divergent
November 22 - December 23
Colour came to my life as a life saver, a big rupture in my life, stormy changes opened my eyes to a whole new language, this universe I knew existed but was never brave enough to face it eye to eye. The moment I stepped into colour it became my most intense obsession.
This collection of small series, incompleted portraits, interventions, collages, is a reflection on how my neurodivergent brain acts when it discovers something new to love. Not being able to embrace it all at once pushed me towards many venues with one thing that coherently unites them all, Colour.
All this new vocabulary added to the previous work reinforces the exploration through a world that is not designed for brains like many of us wired in an alternative way. It is a decision of not conforming to the rules, and jumping as many times as my neurons demand. It is a passionate scream of freedom.
Colour comes after a total rupture in my life, big changes open my eyes to a whole new language. This universe, that I know exists, but am never brave enough to face eye to eye. The moment I step into colour, it becomes my most intense obsession.
This collection of a full year of work, is a reflection on how my neurodivergent brain acts when it discovers something new to love. Not being able to embrace it all at once pushes me towards many Mediums, with one thing that coherently unites them all: Colour.

The show will run from November 22, 2025 to December 23, 2025, the Vernissage is Saturday, November 22 from 5-9PM.

The Artist
Jesus Rivera Zavala, VisualGzas, is a Venezuelan-Canadian visual artist who is based in Ottawa since 2014. His work explores the invisible side of being human: the anxiety, ambition, apathy, and quiet feelings people carry but rarely say out loud.
He uses multiple media including illustrations, acrylics, collage, digital painting, and animation to give shape to those inner landscapes, often blending real memories with imagined spaces. His journey takes him from Caracas to Madrid, Paris, and now Canada, and that mix lives in everything he creates.
He shows work in Tokyo, London, Caracas, Ciudad Guayana, Ottawa, and New York (2025). He receives the City of Ottawa Seed Grant, which involves creating a public mural on Arlington Street in Centretown Ottawa, and the Articipate Grant 2024. He collaborates with the luxury fashion brand Hive & Colony on their Spring 2025 collection.
He has the opportunity to participate in the Disrupt Festival 2025 in Ottawa, where he creates a mural in collaboration with Stephany Victorine, two animation pieces, and one augmented reality project. He is commissioned to create pieces that now dress more than 15 electric boxes in Wellington West, in partnership with their BIA. He also creates visual campaigns for the SecDev Foundation, in programs dedicated to keeping women and youth of conflict regions safe online.
